Series 1 takes place on Wednesday, July 27, at 6:30

The music of Bach, Busoni, Chopin and Gershwin-Say will be performed. Then on Sunday, August 7, the Series 2 performances will take place at 2pm at St. Georges Anglican Church, 1101 Stanley St. in downtown Montreal.
Born in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the gifted pianist has performed as a soloist and accompanist in the Caribbean, United States, Europe and Canada, where he currently resides.
Sean Sutherland began his musical career with both the theory and piano practical graded examinations of the Royal Schools of Music (London, UK), where, at age 15, he was offered a full scholarship. However, having not yet completed his formal secondary school education, he decided to turn down the offer to study music in London.
Nonetheless, in subsequent years he pursued other interests, receiving the prestigious National Island Scholarship in 1996 and was accepted to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he completed bachelor degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Music in 2000. He later earned a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science also from MIT in 2001. While there he also studied piano with Heng-Jin Park and Jerome Rose. He also studied with Patria Zander of the New England Conservatory.
Back in the Caribbean in 2004, Sullivan was associated with different classical musicians, and also served as musical director of the Rhythmix Steel Orchestra in St. Vincent. As musical director, he arranged the music for an all-classical recital, “Ivory and Steel” in October 2005, which featured various classical masterpieces by various masters. He has also been an accompanist at the One Voice Project in Barbados for a few years.
Classical music and his interest in Technology continue to propel Sean Sullivan in his endeavours.
