Livewire choir releases new album
On Tuesday, November 4, Jireh Gospel Choir, released its highly anticipated new CD – Get Up!
Get UP contains 13 songs, 11 original compositions, 3 of which are in French. It is the Choir’s third release and features 18 singers and 20 musicians. It’s available for digital download on iTunes.
Word is that this one is hot, with authentic gospel, foot-stomping beats that will transform even bystanders into active participants, as the music’s uplifting message helps to raise the spirit.
.Created in 1996 by Carol Bernard, JIREH, which comprises most of its original members, has carved out quite a name for itself in the Gospel music industry, performing across Canada, the United States and Europe, always thrilling audiences with its renditions of timeless classics to its original songs. All a combination of traditional and contemporary gospel sounds, built on an R&B, Soul, Jazz and Blues foundation.
Over the years, JIREH has performed with Le Cirque du Soleil, and has headlined renowned international music events such as the Montreal, Toronto and Montreux Jazz Festivals, the Mont-Tremblant Blues Festival and Montreal en lumiere, to name a few.
As a testament to JIREH Gospel Choir’s dedication to, and unique brand of, gospel music, the group won the prestigious Gospel Song of the Year Award in 2012 for their composition, Quoi qu’il arrive, which is presented each year by the Gospel Music Association of Canada.
