Oliver Jones, Audrey Dubois Harris, Norman Villneuve on stage

On Wednesday, September 21, Montrealers should flock to Union United Church for what will be one of the best musical concerts for 2016.
And they should get there early for what should surely be a sold out event.
Here’s why:
The line up of performers includes five internationally acclaimed musicians who now call Montreal home.  The event will be headlined of course, by the great Oliver Jones on piano.
And the theme hinges on one of Oscar Peterson’s seminal compositions, “Hymn To Freedom,” which he wrote in 1962 for his Night Train album.
Jones will be joined by Audrey Dubois Harris, recognized around the world as a leading performer of opera, classical, jazz, sacred, gospel and inspirational music, who recently started calling this city home.
Another Montreal great, Norman Marshall Villeneuve, a veteran jazz drummer will bring his quintet, which consists of Taurey Butler, Eric Lagace, Dave Turner and Bruno Lamarche to the stage at Union United Church to pay tribute to the Oscar Peterson hit

They will be joined by two award winning Montrealers, Kim Richardson and Dawn Tyler Watson.
The “Hymn to Freedom” concert will benefit Union United’s Capital Campaign. It’s on Wednesday, September 21 at 7pm at Union United Church 3007 rue Delisle. Info. 514 932 8732
