Caribbean Nation celebrates 50th Anniversary of Independence
Barbados House celebrates with Montrealers
Barbadians and friends of Barbados from across Montreal and beyond will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Independence of the beloved Caribbean nation on October 15 at the Schofield Hall, 90 Roosevelt Avenue, Town of Mount Royal.
The gala evening, which falls under the auspices and distinguished patronage of the High Commissioner of Barbados, Yvonne Walker, will be a meticulous mixture of fine dining, formal pageantry and music.
And in keeping with the guiding principles of the emerging nation the theme will be: Pride and Industry.
After the dining and formalities come the music and live entertainment by Julian McIntosh and Caribbean Thunderbolt along with D.J. Leslie.
Cocktails from 6pm to 6:30pm then dinner at 7:30pm. Gala Tickets $85 per person, Dance $40.

A Sunday evening at Jamaica Association
On Sunday October 16 Jamaica Association invites the public to a series of events. Starting at 1pm at 4065 Jean Talon W. Participants can go for as many sessions as they choose to, from 1–2pm Yoga with Kassandra Kernisan, Founder of Alkemy Wellness and Yoga Studio (http://alkemywellness.ca/) RSVP for the Yoga session, as spaces are limited. Bring your yoga mats. Then from 2:30– 3pm a brief talk on health and an holistic approach to eating by Kassandra Kernisan, Founder of Alkemy Wellness and Yoga Studio.

Glen Washington and Aubrey Mann for Legends Ball
Two legends of Caribbean music, Glen Washington and Aubrey Mann will be in Montreal on October 29.
They will be at the Eveagreen Reception Hall 5011 Rue Buchan.
It promises to be an evening of non-stop as the legends will be joined by Montreal’s own Flash Gordon and Ghost.
More music will be delivered by DJ Lil Thunder. MC is Howard Stretch Carr.
