Anguillans, Nevisians and Kittians are Ready for ANSAR
It’s the final phase of planning for organizers of the Anguilla, Nevis, St. Kitts Association Reunion (ANSAR).
The event is being coordinated by the St. Kitts-Nevis Association of Montreal and the expectation is that there will be an overflow of visitors to the city for the weekend of activities on July 1-3.
Montrealers are invited to join the festivities, which kick off on the Friday evening with a meet-and-greet, and moves into full gear on Saturday July 2nd with formal opening ceremonies, the marketplace, workshops, a city tour for out-of-town guests, then the highly anticipated banquet and ball which will feature the Brimstone band.
On Sunday, July 3, guests will celebrate the tri-island state at a morning church service followed by a luncheon before wrapping up ANSAR at a cultural extravaganza during the afternoon.

Bermuda Ensemble Singers coming to Montreal
On Wednesday, July 6, the Bermuda Ensemble Singers will make a stop in Montreal for a benefit concert for Union United Church.
They will make a visit to Catherine Booth to minister to residents on Thursday, July 7 at 7 PM. Then on Monday, July 11 at 2:30 PM at Henri Beaudet Hall.

SWEET BREAD COMPETITION GETTING REAL SWEET
The Sweet Bread Competition is on, and contestants and organizers are getting very excited.
On July 24, a lot of hungry Montrealers will gather at the community centre, 6767 Cote des Neiges, to help in the search for the Number One sweet bread maker in the city.
The afternoon will also be filled with music, entertainment, tasting and sampling of a variety of baked delights.
As we undertake the quest of crowning the best Coconut Sweet Bread Maker in the Caribbean Diaspora in Montreal the judges’ decision is final. But those in attendance will be able to make their opinion count with “People’s Choice Award.”
In the end a cash prize, a trophy and other prizes will be awarded to winners. Let’s see if Egbert really makes the best sweet bread.

Trini Day is regarded by all as one of the biggest outdoor parties in Montreal. SVG Picnic at Brown’s Bay on July 16
On Saturday, July 16, tens of thousands of Vincies, their friends and supporters from points west and south of the border will gather at Brown’s Bay in Thousand Islands for the annual St. Vincent and The Grenadines Family Picnic.
This year, parking fees will be in effect. They are as follows:
Lower or main parking lot — Advance sales $37.50 per car/van, maximum 8 seats
Upper Parking Lot — (New) Advance Sales $25.00 per car/van, maximum 8 seats U (until June 30, $30 after).
On the day of the picnic, gate sales (Upper) – $30, vehicles 9 – 20 seats, $150. Vehicles 21 + seats $400.
For the fifth year, the St. Lawrence Parks Commission has entered into a reciprocal agreement with the SVG Unity Picnic Committee whereby patrons attending the picnic can receive a subsequent benefit by holding on to their ticket stub. The Agreement is as follows:

Dance Carifiesta Night at Caribbean Paradise
On Saturday, July 2, Carifiesta night, a segment of Montrealers will be at the Caribbean Paradise Restaurant for a massive carnival show and dance that will feature a throw-down between the sexes in calypso and soca music.
The evening is designed for those who want to dance and enjoy the carnival vibes in a more laid-back but atmosphere.
It’s tagged as A Caribbean Showcase and has a strong roster of local performers lined up in two camps: male and female.
The women will be represented by Lady B, Singing Designer, Ezra, Candy and Tamara, while Sagaboy, Loveman Kent, Sugarman and Doggies will represent the men.
According to organizers at Black Moses Promotion, the big winners for the night will be Montrealers looking to spend a nice Carifiesta night with nice music, joyful people and lots of food and drink.

The 13th edition of the Montreal International Reggae Festival (MIRF) takes place on August 26, 27 and 28, at the Old Port with another stellar line-up of international and local stars .
