Contact Staff

With a total of 75 years involvement in health services, three community professionals and entrepreneurs – Elmira Carr, Contact Staff and Veronica Vassel – are banding together to bring a much-needed service to Montrealers.
By opening the Cavendish Senior Day Center, a place where they will deliver quality care and services to seniors seven days per week, Ms English says she and her partners are bringing a much-needed resource to our community.
The centre is located on the first floor of 2525 Cavendish Boulevard, the building that once housed the CLSC NDG.-Mtl. West, and is equipped to accommodate about 100 clients at a time.
According to its mission statement, it is catering to seniors who can no longer manage independently, or who are isolated and lonely, or who need care and assistance with personal tasks during the day.
And because they bring a wide-ranging set of experiences in health-care, the administrators have made the well-being of their clients central to the range of services offered.
As such, clients will have access to a blood test centre and constant monitoring and administration of medications.
Clients will also enjoy a range of activities from field trips to arts and crafts, pet therapy, films and music, all geared toward stimulating and keeping them active.
And in an attempt to ensure personalized service, Ms. English says administrators and staff will collaborate and build effective relationships with clients and family members.
She reiterated that Cavendish Seniors Day Center stands ready to honor its primary objective: “the delivery of quality service with empathy and compassion.”
“Most importantly, we want to maintain the dignity of our seniors.”
